The short answer. There is no Alexa+ listing to claim. To get your business on Alexa+, be bookable on a booking app Amazon has connected: Vagaro today, with Square announced for 2026. Alexa+ is free with Prime and $19.99 a month without it (Amazon). In our Phoenix read, 13 of 61 salons book through one of those 2.
Key facts.
- Amazon names 1 booking app for beauty appointments on its Alexa+ launch page, Vagaro, in the version updated July 21, 2026.
- On December 23, 2025, Amazon said Square would bring spas, hair and nail salons and barbershops to Alexa+ in 2026, and on October 5, 2026 I found 0 Amazon or Square pages confirming it is switched on.
- Of the 5 Amazon help pages on bookings with Alexa+ that I read on October 5, 2026, 0 name a booking partner and 0 offer a business a listing to claim (Amazon Customer Service).
- Amazon's Local Booking SPI, last updated July 21, 2026, gives a booking app 9 operations to answer and requires a minimum price and a minimum length on every service.
- Of the 61 salons Google surfaces for balayage in Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and Arcadia, 8 book through Vagaro and 5 through Square, in the read we ran on October 5, 2026.
A client is in her kitchen, and she tells the speaker on the counter she wants a manicure on Saturday. That speaker is now allowed to run the whole errand: find the nail salons near her, read out the open times, and book one. Owners ask me whether a voice assistant will ever send them a client. It does now. I read Amazon's own pages, then counted how many salons in one Phoenix-area market it can reach.
Is there an Alexa+ business listing?
No. Amazon gives a salon nothing to claim, no profile to fill in and no form to submit. Of the 5 Amazon help pages on bookings with Alexa+ that I read, 0 name a booking partner and 0 speak to a business owner.
The client asks for a service. Alexa+ shows her a list of businesses, and Amazon says it "searches based on your location and customer reviews" (Amazon). She picks one. Alexa+ helps her choose the service, finds the open times, reads the details back and books. If she has no account with the booking company, it walks her through linking one. The confirmation email comes from the booking company (Amazon).
Every step after "she picks one" happens inside somebody's booking system. Alexa+ has no calendar of its own, so it borrows the one you already pay for.
That is why the advice ranking for this search is out of date. I read the 4 I could open. They say to keep your name, address and phone the same on Google, Yelp, Bing and Apple, which is right as far as it goes. 0 of 4 mention Alexa+ or a booking app. 1 of the 4 tells you to add your site to an Alexa directory, and Amazon's help pages show no such directory. Nobody can sell you an Alexa listing, because Amazon does not keep one.
Which booking apps can Alexa+ see?
For beauty and wellness, Amazon has named 2: Vagaro, which it lists for appointments today, and Square, which it announced in December 2025 for 2026.
| Company | What Amazon has said | What I could verify on October 5, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Vagaro | Named for appointments on the Alexa+ launch page, updated July 21, 2026 | Live. Vagaro's calendar legend has a Booked on Alexa icon |
| Square | Announced December 23, 2025: find, book and reschedule at spas, hair and nail salons and barbershops in Square's network | Announced for 2026. No Amazon or Square page I found confirms it is on |
| Thumbtack, Angi, Yelp, OpenTable | Home services and restaurant tables | Not a salon path |
| Fresha | Not named by Amazon for the US | Fresha announced Alexa+ for the UK on March 19, 2026 |
Credit where it is due. Vagaro and Square built calendars a machine can question, years before any assistant came asking. BUT look at who made the choice. A salon became bookable by voice because of a decision it took years ago about a calendar, for reasons that had nothing to do with Amazon.
So how many salons are standing in the right place? I took the 61 salons Google surfaces for balayage across Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and Arcadia and read where each booking link goes.
| Where the booking link goes | Salons, of 61 |
|---|---|
| Vagaro | 8 |
| Square Appointments | 5 |
| Each stylist books on her own link, some on Vagaro or Square | 3 |
| Another booking company | 26 |
| No online booking link | 19 |
13 of 61. About 1 salon in 5 books through one of the 2 companies Amazon has named, and 8 of 61 through the one I could confirm is live. 26 more take bookings online through a company Amazon has not named, so a client books them from her phone and Alexa+ cannot. 19 have no booking link. The same read on 105 nearby massage businesses gave 8 on Vagaro and 5 on Square.
Keep the size of this door honest. Amazon says tens of millions joined the Alexa+ early program before it opened to everyone in the US on February 4, 2026 (Amazon). It has shared no number for how many use it to get an errand done (TechCrunch). In BrightLocal's survey of 1,002 US adults, 45% had used an AI assistant to find a local business in the past year, ChatGPT led at 31%, and the write-up does not name Alexa. 71% still read Google reviews (BrightLocal, March 2026). Most of your new clients are coming through the map this year. Alexa+ is one more door beside it.
What Amazon's Local Booking SPI asks a booking app for
Amazon publishes the form a booking company fills in to connect, the Local Booking SPI (a service provider interface, or the list of questions Alexa+ is allowed to ask your calendar). It is the clearest picture I have seen of what any assistant wants from a salon. There are 9 questions, and 4 do most of the work:
- GetServices. What do you offer? Alexa+ sends the client's own words. Amazon's example is Swedish massage.
- GetAvailability. When is it open? Every open time comes back with a length and a price before tax, both required.
- GetBusiness. Name, address, hours and the cancellation policy, including whether a fee applies.
- CreateAppointment. Book it, with the client's name, email and phone.
The other 5 move or cancel a booking, fetch the client's details, and pull your rating and up to 50 reviews from the booking app.
A service cannot exist without a price. A minimum price and a minimum length are required on every service. In our Phoenix read on October 1, a balayage price was on 16 of the 61 salon websites. Whatever you think about listing prices online, the machine's side is settled.
The match is made on your service names. Alexa+ passes the client's words to the booking app, and Vagaro tells its businesses its own search reads service titles, not descriptions (Vagaro). "Signature Experience 2" matches nothing a client says out loud.
The reviews it can ask for live on your booking page. Amazon's help page does not say whose reviews it means. The spec asks the booking app for its own.
Why does Amazon talk to the booking company and not to you? Employers were 21.6% of all US businesses in 2023, so close to 4 in 5 have no paid employee (Census Bureau). A salon with 3 chairs is never going to read a 9-operation spec. Anything built for her has to hand over the result with the receipt attached. Here the receipt exists: Vagaro puts a Booked on Alexa icon on the appointment, beside the ones for Google, Apple Maps and Yelp. Honestly, I like that icon more than anything else I read this week.
How do I get my salon on Alexa+?
Be bookable on a booking app Amazon has connected, with every service named in a client's words and carrying a price and a length. In the order any assistant asks:
Can it read you?
- Name each service the way a client says it. Women's haircut. Gel manicure. 90-minute deep tissue massage.
- Put a price and a length on every service in the booking app. A starting price counts.
- Write the cancellation policy in, with the fee. Alexa+ tells the client about a fee before it cancels.
- Check the rating on your booking page. Google reviews still come first, because the map is where most clients look.
Do you answer?
- Keep the calendar true. Alexa+ does not phone or email you. Your calendar answers for you, so block the lunch, the day off and the stylist who left.
Can it book you?
- On Vagaro. In Settings, then Business Profile, confirm online booking and List Business on Vagaro.com are on (Vagaro). Vagaro has not published whether that switch decides what Alexa+ sees. I would keep it on and watch for the icon.
- On Square. Keep your booking site on and ask Square support whether Alexa+ is on for your account. Amazon said 2026. Nobody has published a date.
- On neither. Do not move your calendar for Alexa+. 8 of 61 is where this door is today, and a connected calendar is still a calendar, as the answer on whether booking software gets you more clients shows. Ask your booking company whether it is building to Amazon's spec, open in the United States with local booking as 1 of 6 categories (Amazon Developer). Steps 1 to 5 also serve Google AI Mode bookings for salons, where Vagaro is 1 of 3 partners.
- Test it. With Prime, ask Alexa+ for your own service in your own zip code and write down who comes up.
Steps 1 to 5 are one job in 3 places: the booking app, the website and the Google profile have to carry the same service, price and hours. Keeping them the same every week is the first thing the Discovery Agent at Zoca does when it is hired.
Where Zoca fits
This article was about a narrow form of the third way the front door breaks: the client has chosen, and the booking cannot be finished from where she is standing. For most salons that is still a phone nobody picked up. This is the job when Zoca is hired for it, as one system that runs the day and brings the next client.
The read, before you pay. Your zip code in your numbers: how many people nearby are looking for each thing you do, which salon comes up first for each, and whether each service carries the same name and price everywhere a client looks. The free Google Business Profile Optimizer scores the profile, and the free website audit checks the page.
Two halves. Zoca's half has 2 parts. Bringing the client: the Discovery Agent keeps a page per service with its price, so the menu you already have becomes what people find. Running the day: the Booking Agent runs online booking and payments free and asks for a review at every checkout. The Front Desk Agent answers every call and books it into the calendar. The Engage Agent goes back to the booking somebody quit, and the Loyalty Agent brings each client back on her own clock. Your half: reviews at a pace we agree on, photos of the work every week, and a price on every service. The limits, said plainly: Alexa+ keeps no listing, so nobody can list you there, us included. Amazon has named Vagaro and Square for beauty, and the Booking Agent is not one of them. If your calendar is on Vagaro or Square, keep that connection on. The Discovery, Front Desk, Engage and Loyalty agents are paid hires (pricing).
One of 3 answers. Sometimes next week, because your services had names no client says and prices nobody had written down. Sometimes 60 to 90 days, said out loud at the start, because 3 salons on your street have a page for every service and you have one page. And sometimes not yet, because nobody nearby is looking for the service you want to be known for. Not yet is an answer we give before your card is out.
The Friday report. One sentence on the week, then a line each: reviews ahead or behind, photos done, what Zoca did, each service getting ahead of the salon on the corner, calls answered and booked, who came back, and what to do this week. It lives on your screen, not in an account manager's head.
How we know
I did not run Alexa+ for this piece, because it needs an Amazon sign-in. Every Alexa+ fact is from Amazon's own pages, read on October 5, 2026.
The 61 salons come from 7 balayage searches on Google Places on October 1, 2026. On October 5 a script opened each website and up to 5 linked pages and collected every link pointing at a booking company. I checked every Vagaro and Square hit by eye. A Square payment script or gift card link alone was not counted. 3 sites built on Square's site builder load booking by script, so I read the page data, and all 3 wire the Book button to Square Appointments. The 26 and the 19 come from the October 1 scan and a hand read on October 4. The 105 massage businesses got the script read only. No booking was started, and no business was called or emailed. A booking link on Vagaro or Square is not proof a salon shows up inside Alexa+, because neither company publishes what decides that. One service, one area, one day.
3 things I could not verify and left out: whether Square is live inside Alexa+, whether Vagaro's listing switch decides what Alexa+ sees, and whose reviews Alexa+ ranks by. Amazon ties Yelp to home services in its December 2025 post, so I did not tell you a Yelp page gets a salon into Alexa+. Vagaro's help center has 1 article that mentions Alexa, the calendar legend.
Frequently asked questions
Does Alexa+ have a business listing I can claim?
No. Amazon keeps no profile or claim form for a local business on Alexa+. Of the 5 Amazon help pages on bookings I read on October 5, 2026, 0 speak to a business owner. A salon shows up through the booking app it already uses, so the work is inside that app.
Can Alexa book an appointment at my salon?
Yes, when your calendar is on a booking app Amazon has connected. Amazon's help page lists hair salons, barbers, nail salons, massage and spas. Alexa+ shows the client nearby businesses, finds an open time and books it. Vagaro is the 1 beauty booking app Amazon names today.
Does Alexa+ work with Vagaro and Square?
Vagaro, yes. Amazon's launch page, updated July 21, 2026, names it for appointments, and Vagaro's calendar shows a Booked on Alexa icon. Square was announced on December 23, 2025 as coming in 2026. On October 5, 2026 I found no Amazon or Square page confirming it is on.
Should I switch booking apps to get on Alexa+?
No. Of 61 Phoenix-area salons we read on October 5, 2026, 8 book through Vagaro, the one company confirmed live. Amazon has shared no number for how many people book this way. Name services in a client's words, price each one, and ask your booking company its plans.
